The Armun Ashlands of the Morrowind mainland is a desolate wasteland, devoid of almost all life, and stretching from the Roth Roryn region deep down into south central Morrowind. Some say the ashlands are growing, encroaching upon the fertile territory of the Thirr River Valley, a wave of ash just waiting to spill over into the deep currents of the Thirr river. The Armun Ashlands is a dangerous land to travel, many a weary traveler has met their end trying to span this vast and unforgiving realm. Ancient ruins can also be found, half-buried in the ash, remnants of past civilizations that have fallen to the Armun's persistent encroachment. This territory is home to only one settlement of any notable size, the small Hlaalu town of Ald Erfoud, an oasis for tired travelers trying to get to the city of Kragenmar in the Othreleth Valley of southern Morrowind. Though hardly the only population in the midst of these wastes, the Armun Ashlanders can also be found camping along this harsh landscape, making by as they have for generations.
