I was fooling around and broke my flimsy short ultralight rod. I replaced it with an Ugly Stik GX2. I wanted to get a different ultralight bass rod because the Micro Series rod I broke was way to flimsy. In this video you will see that I'm getting a much better hook set with the medium action GX2 and not losing as many bass.
I also threw in an older clip of when I was using the Shakespeare Mirco Series rod and hooked a gator. About an hour after he got off the line, he returned to claim his territory. After about a half hour of him easing his way closer to the bank I decided to leave. This is a very large gator about eight feet long.
Anyway, I love the new Ugly Stik GX2 medium action 6' 6" long rod. I'm sure I'll be catching a lot more bass now than I lose with this one.
